As the first JP/NP windsurf center worldwide the Pro Center Christof Kirschner in Prasonisi (Rhodes/Greece) sets a new standard to support young people. Starting from May 2008 we offer young sailors up to 18 years a pool of equipment by JP and NeilPryde especially developed for their needs.
And all this at a sensationally good price. When we hosted the JP Young Gun Camp we had the opportunity to talk with parents and their kids to find out what the main reasons are which prevent young people from living their enthusiasm for the sport and from further developing their windsurfing skills.
- Only recently the industry embarked on a new path that is crucial for the development and promotion of the windsurfing sport by starting to offer special equipment for young people in an appropriate variety. The forerunners JP and NeilPryde have realized this market opportunity and adapted their production range accordingly. - Windsurfing centers very rarely offer adequate equipment for children and adolescents. And if so they only provide a very small number and variety. Young people - the future of the windsurfing sport - are more or less treated as a fringe market. Many parents even don’t know where to rent special kit for their kids. - We are very wrong to believe that children and adolescents are primarily beginners and that once they are advanced they should just use their parents’ equipment – which is usually far too big and too heavy for them. Especially adolescents may quickly lose their motivation for the sport because the equipment isn’t suitable for them. Not to talk about the fact that the use of the wrong equipment can be a danger to health. - Windsurfing is an expensive sport – for many parents it may be difficult to financially support their kids enthusiasm for windsurfing.
All these facts made us to contribute to the development of the sport and support young sailors with the following “Young Gun Pool” offer: + A sensational board rental rate which is 30% cheaper than the rate for adults. + Around one quarter of the over 160 boards of our center are available within the “Young Gun Pool”. The same is valid for the 230 NeilPryde rigs. + Under our well known “rent and change” system the kids reserve their favorite fixed board but can switch any time to any other bigger or smaller model within the pool. + Every child or adolescent who books the “Young Gun Pool” will get a JP Lycra and a NeilPryde cap for free!
